Only a short 30-minute fast boat ride from Kuala Besut, this backpacker getaway is the perfect island to escape to as you make your way through peninsular Malaysia. Visiting Pura Luhur Uluwatu (Uluwatu Temple)

Pura Luhur Uluwatu in Bali is a magnificent Balinese pura segara (sea temple). It stands on towering sea cliffs (70 meters tall) with the Indian Ocean crashing below and provides amazing views for miles and miles. The temple is dedicated to Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa in his manifestation of Rudra – a deity associated with wind and storm who is praised as the “mightiest of the mighty”.
